Catholic Church numbers not looking good
In 2000, Christopher Hitchens debated the always entertaining Bill Donahue on the subject of the Catholic Church. You can watch it here. There are multiple copies of it on YouTube...this particular one was posted by someone who, inexplicably, thought Hitchens was bested somehow... Personally, I thought Hitchens came off as his usual eloquent, reasonable self and Donahue was unnecessarily rude, aggressive, and, well, just had poor arguments. The entire debate was entertaining and fun to watch, but the part I want to focus on is something Donahue said towards the end. Essentially, he was taunting Hitchens by implying that the Catholic Church was "winning". He back this assertion up with a few points and genuinely seemed confident that it was a true statement.
